T I M E L E S S ...when the measure of time melts away

Music by Arvo Pärt, John Dowland, Philip Glass, Jacob van Eyck, Henry Purcell and others.

"Time stands still" is the title of one of John Dowland's most famous songs from his "Third and last book of Songs and Ayres" (1603) and is the inspiration for the new programme of Progetto 600. In the archaic moments of transformation such as love and death, in which time seems to stand still and the measure of time melts away, often lies the most intense human experience.

Progetto 600 traces this atmosphere in a serious but also playful way in musical mixtures between the ages - the baroque and the modern - and imperceptible stylistic transitions between the high culture of the 17th century and the popular culture of jazz and pop of the 21st century with nonchalance and suppleness.
