Passionate about Tango
Iris Lichtinger at the piano and Martin Franke on the violin celebrate Tango with blazing passion and tender melancholy. Performing together with legendary musicians and authentic masters of Tango such as Alfredo Marcucci, Luis Borda, and Sexteto Major has shaped their musical lives. Their repertoire includes everything from traditional Argentinian to contemporary Tango, from concert readings to fusion programs which combine the sound of Tango Nuevo with the music of composers such as Bach or Purcell.
They are accompanied by internationally sought-after musicians of (not only) the Tango scene: The masters of the Bandoneón Victor Hugo Villena (Bs As / France), Marcelo Mercadante (Bs As / Barcelona), Christian Gerber (Hamburg), and Michael Dolak (Berlin); the actor and singer Sebastián Arranz (Bs As / Berlin); the cellist Edward King from New Zealand, winner of multiple awards; as well as the narrator Katja Schild, known for her work with the television broadcaster ARTE and the Bayerischer Rundfunk.
Their mutual passion? Tango - or, more accurately, “More than Tango”.
